How to handle a demand letter from Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson LLP or Harris and Harris
As long as you have not already been in front of a Judge, it is sometimes better that you DO NOT PAY the amount these collection agencies are seeking from you and instead get a court date in front of a judge and try to correct and/or fight the violations & lower the fine. We can attend court on your behalf, should you not wish to attend so that you do not have to miss work.
In many cases, this is your best option. However keep in mind, since the Los Angeles County Superior Court has stopped selling DMV Abstracts (as of April 6, 2015), this sometimes makes it harder for some people to clear up their license quickly. It can put people in a difficult position – either you pay Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson LLP or Harris and Harris the big fine amount to clear up the hold on your license, or you schedule a new court date which can be a couple of months away to see the Judge in order to try and fight your charges, get the fine lowered and your license hold cleared.
